2013 Audi A3 Concept Car/A3 Plus
Ah, the 2013 Audi A3 Concept Car is another of Audi’s brilliant contribution to “AutoVille”. Audi certainly has an ambitious goal to be the numero uno (number one) top selling luxury automobile brand on the planet by 2015 (and they are not doing a bad job) this auto company is planning an aggressive (emphasis on the word “aggressive”) innovative model roll out. Audi has high hopes of having a total of forty two (42) different models on sale by the middle of the coming decade; this also includes brand new additions such as the following:
- A1 mini car
- A7 4-door coupe
- Q3 crossover
- A possible reproduction version of Audi’s all electric e-tron concept car.
Now, back to the 2013 Audi A3 concept car; rumor has it that Audi will bring a sedan/coupe version of its next generation A3 to the United States for the 2013 model year – this is the part where you say “Yeah baby!”
This new Audi concept car is presently known by the Audi engineers as the “A3 Plus” and this Audi concept is truly a welcome addition to the Audi’s United States line-up.
Although the real A3 concept car was introduced by Audi in 1996, and in 2005, a North American A3 was introduced as a 2006 model. The United States model that was available at that time was the 5-door sportback. There are a lot of other versions of the Audi A3 concept car already available in Europe but not in North America. But, Audi apparently thought that a small 4-door version may just be right car to include to the 5-door variant that is presently available in the United States.
The new 2013 Audi A3 concept car or A3 plus has already made its debut in mid 2010 in Europe and in mid 2011, it will make its official introduction in the United States. Audi delayed the introduction of this concept car by a year in order to focus on a couple of its other “all new” models (as mentioned earlier). The 2013 Audi A3 Concept Car will be designed in order to actively compete with BMW’s 1-series range.
The complete A3 range (this includes the A3 plus) will share its platform with the VW Golf. The Audi A3 concept car’s footprint will also increase in size from the present model and rumor also has it that its styling will be much more “sleeker” than the current model.
The 2013 Audi A3 Concept Car/A3 plus is a product inspired by the Mercedes-Benz CLS. The truth is that little is really known about the A3 plus, it is expected to have start-stop technology and energy regenerating brakes. This Audi concept car will also come with low-rolling resistance tires and fuel efficient transmission.
The Audi A3 concept car global range will likely get a couple of different 4-cylinder engines. It is not precisely clear which engine will be made available for the United States market. Although another romor also has it that it will be the 2.0L TFSI engine that will deliver 200+hp and 350Nm of torque.
Vroom-Vroom!!!

We were gliding down a short section of Pacific Coast Highway — temporarily closed for us by the Highway Patrol no less — in Audi s wild battery-electric e-tron show car when its German engineer sitting next to me leaned over and asked the pay-dirt question So what do you think? This is a concept car remember and it s hard to believe that Audi — who have already shaken the supercar status quo to its core with its brilliant R8 — won t be considerably dialing-up the e-tron s crucial EV-parameters prior to its limited run of 1000 units. Moreover this all-electric incarnation of Audi all-wheel-drive represents a profound re-think of the very potential of Quattro .
